My Summer Holiday Essentials!

As most of you already know, I've not long come back from a lovely week-long holiday in Algarve, Portugal. My suitcase was FULL of bits on bobs that I took on holiday with me, and today I'm going to share with you some of my essentials!

Left: £13 from River Island Right: £1 from Primark.

Sunglasses are a must have to take on a summer holiday! On my holiday, I took my favourite pair of sunglasses from River Island to wear on a day to day basis - they are my favourite because they look so stylish and match with every single outfit I wear! However, I also took these nice, cheap glasses from Primark along with me too, to wear whilst I was running around on the beach, playing with my little cousins etc so I didn't ruin my favourite River Island pair! For £1 you can't go wrong!

Bag: £4 from Primark
When I'm on holiday I just like to take a small bag to carry around with me for when we go out exploring nearby towns and cities. I chuck in my purse and some lipgloss (no mobile phones on holiday!!) in and its ready to go! This cheap little bag from Primark is my handiest little bag ever! Its very compact and matches with all of my outfits!

From left: ZARA, Clarks, Topshop

Its important to take the right footwear away with you on your hols. Something comfortable and practical, yet stylish and chic. On my holiday I took these three pairs of shoes with me; My sandals from ZARA are amazing! I love them, especially the platform sole of the shoe. They are also real leather, so they are very comfortable. My wedged sandals from Clarks are hands down the most comfortable heeled shoes I have ever owned. I mostly wore these in the evenings when I got dressed up to go for dinner, they only have a small wedged heel so they were perfect for walking around normally in - I even ran around with the kids in them! My Topshop shoes, as you guys know because I ramble on about them SO much, are my favourite shoes ever! They are so comfy and I can wear them with every single outfit I own. I think they can smarten up and outfit too!

For when I'm sunbathing by the pool, or lying on the beach on holiday, I like to have a little something to keep me entertained. The book which I read over my holiday is 'The Devil Wears Prada' by Lauren Weisberger and I really enjoyed it! I love the film so I thought that I would try reading the book too, and it sure did not disappoint! I spent a lot of time listening to my Ipod too. My favourite albums/songs to listen to on holiday were:
Selena Gomez: Stars Dance
Demi Lovato: DEMI
Gabrielle Aplin: English Rain
Landon Pigg: Falling In Love At A Coffee Shop
Justin Timberlake: Justified
Walt Disney Song Collection

Listening to Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato and Justin Timberlake really made me want to get up and dance and they all have such a happy, summer vibe to them! Gabrielle Aplin and Landon Pigg have such relaxing voices and their songs are amazing. Of course, no Ipod is complete without a Disney Collection - Disney songs just make me so happy :)

TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Heat Protection spray and VO5 Smoothly Does It, Tame And Shine Spray

My hair goes a bit wild when it comes to holidays - The continuous sea salt and the heat damages it quite a bit, so I like to use TRESemmé Keratin Smooth Heat Protection spray on my hair just before blow drying it after a wash. It claims to reduce frizz and leave you with sleek, manageable hair, which I actually agree with! It leaves my hair feeling soft and sleek and generally less damaged from the heat. I use the VO5 Smoothly Does It, Tame And Shine Spray after I've dried my hair (mostly on the ends, I find it makes my hair greasy if I put it on the roots) and it makes it feel very sleek and soft! I'd definitely recommend these products!

From left: NYC Lipstick in Blue Rose, Revlon Lip Butter in Papaya, Nivea Tinted Moisturising Day Cream, Rimmel London Wake Me Up Concealer in Soft Beige, Maybelline The Falsies Volum' Express Waterproof mascara, Benefit Rockateur blush.

I try to wear minimal makeup whilst I'm on holiday but in the evenings when we go for dinner, I like to make myself look a bit more 'dressed up'. My Nivea Tinted Moisturiser is so amazing - it acts like a foundation, but still moisturises the skin, and its super inexpensive too! After using more expensive brands of BB creams and tinted moisturisers, I would say that this product, at £3.66 (I managed to bag one for £1.75 in the sale!!) is the best one I've used, and for great value too!
I mostly wore the NYC Blue Rose and Revlon Papaya Lip Butter on my lips on holiday - When I'm on holiday, I feel like I can wear more extravagant lip colours because of my tan (?!), so these colours are great.
The Rimmel London Wake Me Up concealer is especially great for coverage under the eye so get rid of those nasty black bags! I really like the creamy consistency and the colour is great too.
Of course, I'm in the pool and the sea a lot on holiday, so waterproof mascara is essential! I find with most waterproof mascaras, they don't give as much volume or curl to the lashes as non-waterproof mascaras, but Maybelline The Falsies Waterproof proved me wrong! Its one of the most voluminous mascaras I've ever used! I am pleased with it! And of course, last but not least, my Benefit Rockateur blush - I received compliments when I wore this on holiday! Check out my review on it here

Giraffe dress by Diana Vickers at
Zebra bralette top and skirt both from Topshop
Peach collared dress from H&M
White dress with neon stitching from Asda
Aztec cami top from Primark, Denim boyfriend shorts from New Look
Orange dress from H&M

When I'm on holiday I like to keep my outfits pretty simple, comfortable and practical to wear but I like to wear bright colours that compliment my tanned skin! The outfits featured in the photo above are my favourite! I especially like the Giraffe print dress by Diana Vickers for - I've had this dress for a few years now and its one of my all time favourites! Its so simple yet so unique!

What are your summer holiday essentials?! Let me know!

2013 Teen Choice Awards - Fashion Do's and Don'ts!

The Teen Choice Awards is an annual award ceremony in LA, USA. Its a bustling and fun evening, something I look forward to watching every year because so many of my favourite celebrities attend!

Fashion is a huge part of the evening, and today I'm going to review the do's and don'ts from The Teen Choice Awards 2013 (August 11th) for you!

First up is, host of the evening, Lucy Hale who arrived to the 'blue carpet' dressed in Houghton top and skirt and Stuart Weitzman shoes. This is actually one of my favourite outfits of the whole evening; I think its so chic but still fun and girly for the occasion!

One of my favourite celebrities ever, Demi Lovato, stunned the blue carpet with this rocky but sophisticated outfit. She rocked leather trousers, a beaded black blazer (tongue twister right haha?!) and white t-shirt. She kept it simple but definitely demi-fied. Love it.

The gorgeous Nina Dobrev stood out with bold prints as she wore a J. Mendel top and matching pants. Dolce & Gabbana shoes, a Devi Kroell bag, and Martin Katz earrings - she looked stunning. I especially love her cute clutch bag!

'Scandal' star, Kerry Washington flaunted her great legs in a Stella McCartney long sleeve mini dress and Christian Louboutin shoes. I NEED THIS DRESS IN MY LIFE! I may have fallen in love; Stella McCartney pulls it out the bag every time, and Kerry does a great job wearing it too!

Selena Gomez never fails to amaze me on the fashion front. Last night she wore a Cushnie et Ochs dress (complete with double thigh-high slits!), Nicholas Kirkwood shoes, and Neil Lane jewelry. Selena has always been one to dress sophisticated and chic and last night was no exception. The newly turned 21 year old showed off her killer legs and amazing body in this dress.

As long as there are fashion DO'S there will always be an array of fashion DON'TS, and here are some of last night's...

Oh Miley Miley Miley... sigh. The ex- Disney star has turned to the 'rocky, out of control grown up' look, apparently. I can't say I like any part of this outfit, including the hair and makeup. Sorry Miley, I really want to like it - but I just can't. It kind of reminds me of a bat.

Actress Hana Mae Lee sure stood out in this outfit. From the boxy dress with tail to the outrageous 'I AM A MAN' headpiece... I'm not really feeling this outfit, sorry Hana! Its just too much.  Although I am always digging the Doc Marten boots (snap!) and well done for being original I suppose.

Hailee Steinfeld definitely turned heads in a House of Holland printed dress, Oscar Tiye shoes and an Amanda Pearly clutch. As much as I usually adore Henry Holland's designs, I'm just not feeling this one. It kind of reminds me of a christmas cracker... Her hair is pretty though.

Lastly is the one and only Rebel Wilson. Yep, that's right, the 'Pitch Perfect' star showed up to the award ceremony wearing a black and hot pink wetsuit with her name on. She is a comedy genius and legend; this definitely made me giggle! Although, I wouldn't advise other celebrities turning up to award ceremonies dressed like this (can you imagine Selena Gomez?!), Rebel brightened everyone's evening for sure.

Overall, the Teen Choice Awards 2013 did pretty well for fashion. I can't wait for next year! What was your favourite outfit of the night?! Let me know!

DIY- Greek yogurt hair and face mask

Hi guys!
I have just come back from a very lovely holiday in Portugal! However nice and hot it was, the heat does do an awful lot of damage to my hair!
I read a blog post about greek yogurt being good for your hair, so I thought that I'd try it out!
I brought some inexpensive full fat greek yogurt from good ol' ASDA and put it in a bowl and whisked it up a bit to get rid of any lumps.
I then hopped in the shower and washed my hair as usual with shampoo and rinsed it out. Then, I applied the greek yogurt to my hair, concentrating on the ends and wrapped it up in a towel turban and left it for an hour.
With some left over greek yogurt I smothered it over my face as a face mask, then washed it off after 10 mins. It left my face feeling super soft and moisturised, I love it! It also appears to reduce redness and hyperpigmintation of my face.
After 1 hour I went back in the shower and thoroughly rinsed the yogurt out of my hair.
I then brushed and blowdried my hair as usual, but with no extra products and It left my hair feeling AMAZING! My hair felt lighter, softer and shinier. There were no tangles whatsoever and my hair just looked so much more healthier!
I'd definitely recommend using some greek yogurt on your hair (and face!) now and again, its such a luxurious, yet inexpensive deep conditioner.
I will 100% be using this again soon!
