Benefit- Rockateur Blush Review!

I've been a huge fan of Benefit for as long as I remember.

So, when I found out that they were releasing a new blush, I was super excited!

Today I brought Benefit Rockateur which is a rose gold coloured blush with a soft sheen finish and gold overspray from Plymouth Benefit Boutique as they were holding a flash sale.. So I have managed to bag this product 6 weeks early before general release! YAY!

I am a sucker for anything 'rose gold' - makeup,jewelry.. you name it, I love it! So I was super excited to get my hands on this blush!

I'm not particularly crazy about the packaging... I find it looks kind of tacky, but I can live with it.

The small box, similar to Benefit's past products such as Hoola and Coralista, comes with a little mirror in the lid and an applicator brush. The mirror isn't the greatest or clearest, but its compact enough to just chuck in your bag; very handy! I actually really like the small applicator brush that comes with this product, its really soft and easy to apply the product with.

The blush itself it absolutely beautiful! Hands down the best blush I have ever owned! Its such a pretty rose gold colour, it has a sheen finish but not over-overwhelmingly sparkly; just enough shimmer to give you a warm glow to your cheeks! The 'Bene-babe' serving me (and also gave me a lovely Benefit makeover) in the Boutique said that this product can be used as a bronzer, as well as a blush. I also learnt that this product contains an ingredient which prevents mosquitoes from biting you! So, no nasty bites on your cheeks for now on..?!

In some ways it reminds me of Estée Lauder's blush highlighter 'Tease'.

However, the net weight for Rockateur product is only 5g, whereas previous products such as Hoola is 8g and Coralista is a whooping 12g. So, for the price, it seems like we're getting a lot less product?! It may seem this way, but you only need such a small amount of product to sweep across the cheeks for the radiant look. I think this blush will compliment all skin types! I have a bit of a tan at the moment, and it looks so great against my complexion but the 'Bene-babe' in the shop had a lot paler skin than me, and it looked just as beautiful on her!

I've been wearing this blush for over 6 hours now and it still looks as radiant on my skin as ever. So far it seems to be long- lasting.

So overall I'm very pleased about this blush! Although, at £23.50, the price tag may seem a lot, I definitely think that it is worth it! The quality is so great. Also I managed to bag it 6 weeks early!

Are you looking forward to get your hands on Rockateur? Or have you managed to get it already? What do you think?! Let me know!

Have a nice day!

  1. Your review is so detailed and helpful! I really like how it doesn't have a ton of shimmer in it! I definitely want to try out benefit's boxed powder blushes, but I'm not sure about this shade on my skintone. I may go for a color like bella bamba or coralista! Love your new blog by the way, and background is really cute :) Now following!
